Fairy Falls Trail Tips

Fairy Falls Trail is one of the most popular trails in the area. It is a 3-mile out-and-back trail that features a waterfall and is great for all skill levels. The trailhead is located at the Fairy Falls Parking Area, which is about a 30-minute drive from the main visitor center. There are several things to know before you hike Fairy Falls Trail. Here are some tips:

  • Wear proper shoes and clothing. The trail can be slippery in places, so make sure you have good hiking shoes with good traction. It’s also a good idea to wear layers in case the weather changes.
  • Be prepared for crowds. Because this is such a popular trail, it can often be crowded. Be prepared to share the trail with other hikers and be respectful of other people’s space.
  • Start early. If you want to avoid the crowds, start your hike early in the morning. This also allows you to beat the heat, as it can get quite warm in the afternoon.
  • Bring plenty of water. There is no water available on the trail, so make sure you bring enough for your entire hike. A good rule of thumb is to bring 1 liter of water per person.
  • Stay on the trail. There are a lot of slippery rocks around the waterfall, so it’s important to stay on the trail and follow the signs. Do not attempt to climb on the rocks or go behind the waterfall.

By following these tips, you’ll have a great hike on Fairy Falls Trail and create memories that will last a lifetime.
