Our last trip to California was not meant to be a vacation. My husband had a work trip and lucky for us he decided to bring us along! His work convention was in Los Angeles and our hotel was in Burbank California. I knew the kids and I were going to get bored fast if we stayed the entire trip in the hotel. The swimming pool excitement can only last so long!

Before the trip, I reached out to one of our good friends, Scott Lindel. Scott owns a tree trimming company in Burbank Ca and he has lived there for a number of years. Lucky for us he had some great ideas of activities we can do to escape the hotel room! I told Scott that my kids are very active and love to be outdoors. He suggested the best thing to do outdoors is to escape the city and go for a hike. I was very surprised to find out about all the hiking trails near Burbank Ca!

Some of the best hikes that Scott recommended were Wildwood Canyon, Stough Canyon Nature Center, Griffith Park, Wildwood Canyon, and Wisdom Tree Hike.

Stough Canyon Nature Center

The Stough Canyon and Nature Center offer some of the best hiking in Burbank, CA. Trails wind through canyons and hillsides, providing spectacular views of the cityscape below. The Nature Center also offers guided moonlight hikes on a monthly basis, which are a great way to see the city in a whole new light.

Griffith Park

Griffith Park is one of the largest and most well-known parks in Burbank. With over 4,200 acres of parkland, it is home to miles of hiking trails, scenic picnic areas, and plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors. From horseback riding to hiking to simply taking in the stunning views, Griffith Park is a must-visit for any nature lover.

Wildwood Canyon

The Wisdom Tree Hike begins at the top of Griffith Park, where you will find an abundance of scenic hiking trails and panoramic vistas. The hike continues up the mountain, passing through a variety of different habitats, including chaparral, grassland, and oak woodland. As you continue upward, the trail eventually leads to Burbank Peak, which is home to one of the city’s most iconic landmarks: an old, gnarled pine tree, known as the Wisdom Tree.

The hike to the summit of Burbank Peak is an intense climb, but those who make it to the top will be rewarded with stunning views of Downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills. So if you’re looking for a challenging yet rewarding hike in Burbank, the Wisdom Tree Hike is definitely one you won’t want to miss.

Conclusion

Burbank is a fantastic destination for outdoor adventurers, with countless hiking trails that offer beautiful views of the cityscape. Whether you are looking to explore Wildwood Canyon, Stough Canyon, and Nature Center, Griffith Park, or Burbank Peak, there is something for everyone here. So if you are looking to get some fresh air and take in some stunning views, be sure to add these five hikes to your list.
